The Engineering department is Atelier 33’s research structure in the domain of electro-acoustical integration. It is headed by Michel Deluc. Since more than 20 years, its has been dedicated to develop exclusive and powerful sound projects.
« This scientific research and conceptualization department has a fundamental importance in our company. Its main objective has always been to develop unique and dedicated solutions. There have been many, many signatures and collaborations since more than 20 years, and some of them are still amazing, considering the complexity of the problems to be solved and the high quality of given solutions. For example, our recent collaboration with prestigious IRCAM Institute in the context of an European Wave Field Synthesis program. We had to develop and implement a system of more than 150 amplified speakers, each one independently controlled and addressed via an EtherSound audio network. In another domain, we worked many times with African artist Youssou N’Dour, to develop specific high-power monitoring systems for his Dakar recording studios. These systems were then adopted by several famous Paris recording studios. We worked on hybrid and innovating projects, like the first luminous speakers, created for a contemporary play, or the first Sound Case, imagined by the collective New York organization Soundwalk and based on a very elaborate triphonic sound system… And there are many innovating projects to come. These projects will allow our Department to help to improve the Amadeus brand recognition, and to popularize the ideas we have about sound. »
